Corey Sandelius show in L.A.

Corey Sandelius has a great new show coming to Billy Shire Fine Arts in L.A...
A darker, scarier collection than he has shown before. Sounds exciting. With Torii B. Cooper and Ken Tanaka. It opens today, Saturday, April 11th, and runs until May 2nd.

What's New?

MIKE SHINODA GLORIOUS EXCESS ART SHOW TO DEBUT AT JAPANESE AMERICAN MUSEUM IN 2009

image

Chances are starting to look good that the second (and final) part of my GLORIOUS EXCESS art show will open to the Los Angeles public in the later part of this year.

Although dates have not been officially confirmed, the art is coming together nicely. This show follows the story of our anti-hero as he overdoses on celebrity, overdoses on himself, and carves a path to superstar martyrdom. The official announcement and info will be posted here on mikeshinoda.com, of course. As usual, proceeds will go to charity (Music For Relief, Michael K. Shinoda endowed scholarship, JANM).

Stay tuned!

What have you done lately...?

Join the cause, help MusicForRelief by joining Socialvibe or donating directly to the organization.

About:

MUSIC FOR RELIEF is a grassroots effort comprised of musicians, music industry professionals and fans who believe that together we can create positive change.
To respond to natural disasters and help victims recover and rebuild with an emphasis on housing, education programs and resources. MUSIC FOR RELIEF also recognizes the environmental consequences of global warming, which has demonstrated the capability to accelerate and strengthen certain types of natural disasters. Therefore the second goal of MUSIC FOR RELIEF is to prevent and decrease future natural disasters by reducing greenhouse gasses, seeking renewable forms of energy and educating the public about climate change.
Established in 2005 to provide aid for those affected by the tsunami tragedy in South Asia, the idea for MUSIC FOR RELIEF originated amongst the members of the band Linkin Park who wanted to do something to help the victims. The idea was that if they made a donation, and then asked their musician peers and their fans to make a donation as well, a huge impact could be made in assisting relief efforts. With this in mind they started reaching out to others in the music community to get involved and became the founders of MUSIC FOR RELIEF.

LA Art Gallery

But first of all....

I wish everyone a happy, joyful and successful new year.
May everything you wish for come true!

But, back to the topic.
I'd like to give you brief information about an art gallery in LA.
A very unique one.....

Phantom Galleries is an LA county-based organization that transforms vacant storefront windows into 24/7 public art galleries. Each installation is a unique relationship between the participating Artist, Curator, Property Owner and the Community that the exhibit is in.  Exhibits are curated by local Arts Organizations, Los Angeles based Galleries, Independent Curators, and Los Angeles based Artists. The project gives local artists an opportunity to exhibit their work, while fostering economic development by drawing attention to available retail space. The project promotes the creative communities of Los Angeles to a broader audience. By pooling our resources we can create goodwill and a sense that Los Angeles is a single community booming with culture.
Phantom Galleries LA is inspired by and modeled after the successful Phantom Gallery in San Jose.
If you'd like to give them a hand: donate/support or volunteer.

Also, you can add them on MySpace or  Facebook to spread the word.
Thanks, in advance!
